The emperor needed to believe it because the little girl has the insignia of the royal family on her hand (only royals will have the insignia on their hand) though deep inside he knows somethings wrong since he doesn’t feel anything towards the fake daughter unlike with our Ivy. Before this happened the Emperor was actually going to adopt our little chick
There was a moment as well when Ivy said to the emperor “Dad I have the crest on my hand, I’m your daughter” somewhere along those lines.
Spoiler: the reason why she has the mark, the fake daughter actually is the daughter of the emperor’s brother. So she’s Ivy’s cousin. She was manipulated by trash adults that she was the emperor’s real daughter.
