IMO I think it is not worth it. Ofc this is just my personal opinion but I will spoil a bit. So first, it is labeled as a romance, when in reality, objectively it is not. Why I say this is because in love there are times of suffering, but also times of warmth. But varkas (ml) and talia (fl) barely share any warmth. And when the fl finally gets a little bit of development and they’re showing more affection, she dies. In recent chapters she literally dies due to ml being neglected and abused during his adolescence, he doesn’t know how to show emotions so he piles work onto himself. They throw a funereal for talia and he doesn’t not care. Now, before all this happened, fl literally rapes the ml. This is debatable because people seem to believe she didn’t, but I think if she wasn’t the fl she would receive a lot of criticism. Talia had gotten hurt and her mother/current empress want varkas to compensate, so she marries him off to her. They get married blah blah blah and then it is their wedding night. Talia brings up that he is her husband and it is his duty to have sex with her, he doesn’t want to but talia intiates it with force. It is her first time so she is uncomfortable, but when she sees his face it hurts more than the physical discomfort. Now there is dialogue where ml is like “oh I can’t wait for our next time” “I can only get erect from you” but I think consent is clear and voluntary, not an afterthought. So that is my opinion on that, also, the story is full of miscommunication and misunderstandings, so it starts to drag at one point because it’s miscommunications that lead to more miscommunication. So basically a loop. And then obviously the author seems to have some fetish for miscarriage so after fl rapes ml multiple times she loses her baby. I forget how but I think it is due to stress, I’m not going to go into detail about her babies reincarnation and stuff because it’s just so badly written. People say fl is a villainess and a good one at that, but imo she’s just emotionally immature. I get trauma can definitely shape who you are as a person but it’s not an excuse to hurt innocent people. Also, the age gap between her and varkas gives me the ick. It’s normal for the periodic time but it’s still weird to me. I believe she’s 14-16 and he’s like 22. This is just my opinion I personally didn’t like it but don’t let me stop you from reading it ╮(￣▽￣)╭
