ML is kinda goofy, FL is the one on the nonchalant type

Can someone recommend a story with the same style: lots of politics, strong and witty/intelligent female lead wIth also a solid plot, true to its time, where the titles, social relationships, and cultural references are consistent, without mixing elements from other historical or geographical contexts? (No sunbai, onichan or bowing head as in asian cultures).
