i wish theres a way to tell these korean authors but maybe korean readers themselves dont have a problem with it so the authors just keep writing with rape. i mean international readers are always vocal about these tropes we dont like it so i dont understand
That’s very much the reason. Because both Japan and South Korea are so culturally sexually repressed in terms of showing outward affection and sexual intimacy. This is what you get. A culture that sees no issue with the opportunity to not be held responsible for their sexual desires, which rape allows by taking on that mode of sexual expression/passion in way that allows the self insert reader to have access to these desires without the shame of initiating it themselves. If an outside source forcibly initiates this all the better.
I don't understand bl webtoon authors infatuation with rape. Especially when the characters and the story don't need it. The ml wasn't toxic or aggressive but using the pretense of losing conscience to justify rape was a foul move
