From what I read in the previous comments, the mc gets crazy and a lot of shit happens to him again and he end up with the black hair dude-

actually from what ive heard he did change actually, he helped the mc a few times on his "revenge" and i think he just started to become clear of his love with the mc like this particular line

yes! the black hair guy, in stories like this...its hard to say or even decipher what was the mc thinking....cus like at this point...just whatever he wanna do...thats why alot of people showed their disdain on this story because the mc ended up w jerome...

Nah uh, I'm dropping this because the ending is just a disappointment anyways! I want the ending of the mc to be free!!! Like free from his crazy mother free from the hell of a school free from jerome and the other guys! I want him to escape in the end and find a new life!

I just read the novel and it gets pretty complicated but
*SPOILER when they were younger/yrs before raymond met them, jerome was actually drugged by hugh and his brother timothy (who is in charge of "the club" basically where people gangraped victims), and he was forced to rape other people.

This basically is the motive behind jerome's own revenge against timothy/the club and his own family. When raymond was captured again years after escaping from the dorms by george, jerome nurses him back to health and lets him escape.

For yrs after that, raymond tracks down christopher (the one boy from the boys' previous victims that survived) and wants to know more information around simon and jerome. Christopher (who also goes by christine now working in drag) has her own agenda and refuses to help raymond. It turns out that she was in love with timothy but also wanted to kill him for revenge for what george and hugh did. Christine teamed but with jerome for their mutual benefits....skipping a lot of detaiils..... raymond met this guy named terry and they both like each other, and after hearing about raymond's whole story, terry convinces raymond to run away together. However, raymond tells terry to go because he is unable let go of simon and jerome. He goes to timothy to take jerome, simon, and christine but chrstine ultimately commits suicide via helicopter crash, taking timothy with her. Jerome protects raymond but gets badly injured and swept away in a stream (this is where jerome is believed to have died).

Raymond loses his memory and simon lives with him, taking care of him because he loves raymond. Eventually, raymond mets with someone who knew jerome who then lets him know that jerome is alive. Raymond later gets back his memory and he goes to find jerome. .. fast forwarded again but simon, jerome and raymond end up at the dormitory where everything first started. Simon says he wants to go back to the way it was and shoots raymond but jerome shoots him first, killing simon. Raymond tells jerome that he never wants to see him again and jerome leaves. A yr later, raymond meets jerome on the side of a road and jerome asks him to come with him, and he does.
