I think it’s about the idea of someone who’s only obsessed with you. To the point that they would do anything just to be near you! My favorite yanderes are the non-murderous ones. Like the ones who kidnap and confine, and has a dominant energy to them. Ofc only in fantasy, cause real life would be way too scary.
idk if u were fr but for me personally in the past it was the fantasy of having someone who would love you past any human flaw, and making up for any lack of it you give yourself. its scary irl but with a screen between you and them it also feels like a safe way to feel intimacy especially if youve been hurt before. on top of that unrealistic lack of vulnerability of the screen you would never need to be emotionally vulnerable with someone so infatuated with you they read your mind and know you better than you know yourself
