In chap 82, they reveal that Lyod’s left arm was cut off for a deal he made. They tried to reattach his arm with magic, but his arm was too damaged so they had to use a beast’s arm. However, since the beast is still alive, it would try to take over Lyod’s so that’s why his skin sometimes has those scale-like texture
