    Why? YUMI

I liked Lucia more at the beginning because she seemed independent and like she actually knew what she wanted. But as the story goes on, I feel like everything starts revolving around Hugh. I just can’t get attached to them as a couple because I don’t really feel any chemistry between them. It’s not that I think they’re badly written, their dynamic just doesn’t emotionally connect with me.

    Some spoilers(sorry for the rant)

I can see where you come from, i think the only thing stopping them from having genuine connection is their secrets. Hue's brother and bloodline. And Lucia dreams. This paired with the contract and them being overthinkers. They're overthinking each other actions and it exposes their own flaws.

As I've read the novel their relationship continues improving as they eventually open up to each other and eventually discard of the contract. This paired with Lucia confronting her past life and realising they did meet in that life.

To conclude is their internal thoughts of each other that makes their dynamic iffy as some time. Especially Lucia as she depends on him showing her want for family and love while hue downturn value family as much and doesn't think he's deserving of love
