You can always check out the thrift, people donate printers/scanners all the time. Savers specifically is always selling them near me.
If you want to try the phone route, Adobe Scan is really good but you do need to pay a fee to bypass some of the better features hidden behind a paywall, but Genius Scan is definitely a rec. Genius doesn't have a bs paywall. I've used both for work and school.

The five volumes arrived to my house finally after 3 months. Unfortunately my job is awful and have no time but I am planning to quit in the next 3 months. I have the physical books so if anyone has any tips on getting the raws into digital format? I don't have a scanner yet, should I wait or try my best getting the pics from my phone? Appreciate any tips!
