u can read diamond dust instead, it’s illustrated by the same artist, not the same author !

But if they avoid any type of non con then diamond dust is kinda tricky. The story core and main plot revolves about the non con action the ML choose to do.

Spoiler warning!!!!! cuz I got spoiled to while doing research from this non con accusation comment oopppppppp (#-.-)

Basically I think they meant non con as in later in the novel, the ml will turn the mc into omega. But their love scenes where all consensual and even the mc kinda always asked for it. The mc is like a very rare case of omega or something. Like the mc is his fated pair so only ml could smell him. It's complicated without reading novel (even I'm hella confused about this particular omegaverse dynamic cuz it's different from the typical aob). The ml is a green flag but his decision to turn him fully into omega without consent was the non consensual part.

THIS IS JUST ME READING SPOILER BTW I DIDN'T READ THE NOVEL YET. Correct me if I'm wrong about anything. I will read tho cuz it's interesting and not cliché like most aob.

it does look not cliché and thank god bc i bet yk how omegaverse stories are…

He’s a golden alpha, but I remember correctly he loses the blue in his eyes because he turns him into an omega

    I read the novel.

    SPOILER ALERT

The ML knew from the very beginning that the MC was a rare, special type... one who could be permanently turned into an Omega if a Golden Alpha like him repeatedly fucked, knotted, and came inside him.

And he did exactly that. Every single time he could.

He deliberately kept the truth hidden from MC until the very end. MC learned about it from someone the ML had confided in.

It wasn’t rape, but definitely an issue with consent, betrayal, control and manipulation.

True it is very manipulative. But non-con is mainly used for SA so it's a strong word for their situation in my personal opinion... I almost stopped reading for your comment ( T﹏T )

When in the novel did it say that he knew from the beginning? Because I read it as well but I don’t remember him knowing from the beginning

That’s totally fair, and I get why "non-con" feels like too heavy of a label since there wasn't explicit, physical coercion. SORRYYYYY FOR ANY MISUNDERSTANDING!!

But for me, it comes down to a fundamental violation of consent. Consent isn't just about saying "yes" in the moment; it's about knowing what you're actually agreeing to. If the MC had known that these sex (very good fucking sex, mind you lol) carried the permanent risk of changing who he is, would he have still said yes? Maybe he would have, or maybe not.

But by deliberately hiding the truth, the ML completely stripped away the MC's autonomy. He manipulated the situation so the MC couldn't make an informed choice about his own body and future. So while it might not fit the traditional definition of SA, taking away someone's right to choose what happens to their body... is for me... a violation of consent. So, I would still tag it as non con.

But don't let it stop you from reading! Because it is damn good. And they really actually handled this in a great way. Like, it wasn't brushed under.

Hiii!!! So remember, in the novel, the ML was eventually revealed to not be just a Golden Alpha. He’s actually what they call a Ghost? Right? He is an extremely rare type. His family kept it hidden because they believed it was crucial to maintaining their power and legacy in society when the time is right.

The ML already knew he was a Ghost and understood that he had the ability to gradually turn Betas into Omegas through knotting. I mean, the novel did explain that omega and alphas are educated about.. well basically the omegaverse lol. Unlike betas, who tends to not really know the technicalities. That’s why the story emphasized how hard ML tried to control both his pheromones and the animalistic desires that comes with it. He didn’t want to accidentally change people, and he definitely didn’t want to become a tool his family could use for their own ambitions.

So yeah, ML knew the consequences of knotting hence the panic and shock that he did so because he is literally in control all the time but MC just makes him go crazy and lose all sense of control...each time they do it.

What he didn't’ know in the start, was that the MC is a Diamond Dust type... basically a hidden Omega that can only be detected by a Ghost. Only a Ghost can smell his pheromones, and in return, the MC is also able to sense a Ghost Alpha’s pheromones.

I’m curious, did you read the translated version online? If yes, then honestly, I get if it wasn't so clear. I had so many questions while reading both the translated and original versions because, in my opinion, the translation quality was kind of rough. Reading it in OG form is also barely possible for me because my Korean is from Duolingo hahahaha, but luckily I have native Korean-speaking friends who explain things for me.

So yeah. But I might have make mistakes. Oh well. Enjoy your day!!!

Yes yes I definitely agree with u. It isn't non con in popular term but it is a big violation on consent. I personally like stories a lot if they handle such problematic behaviour with care and resolve it well rather than brushing it under the rug. Which is mainly why I'm interested in reading this novel!
