I like both shutline and flashlight. I can see why shutline saw it as plagiarism bc the artstyle and story plot are very similar. but the shutline author was serious about making official copies and making actual merch for this (which she did) so I’d understand as to why she didn’t want flashlight to keep “plagiarizing” her work. they already went through the legal stuff so stop dragging TS on. like please dude. it’s genuinely annoying and stupid beef. if it’s not your drama don’t talk about it. grow the fuck up. we love shutline and we love flashlight. grow up.
and if you say “oh! b-but the Reddit posts!!!” okay, let me say it one more time. what’s said is said, and what’s done is done. legal matters have taken place and stories are going back to what they’re coming back to. flashlights og plot didn’t seem much like the shutline plot, just the designs of them looked VERY similar, so yes I’d understand why a BL vet wouldn’t want their work taken by some new BL artist/writer. Pretty sure this happened before but I forgot which story it was for a GL story. what’s said is said and what’s done is done. I wouldn’t want some new artist take what I worked hard on and get all the credit and more hype than the actual source. but hey, they were both good about it and talked to their companies and figured out what they need to change and yadda yadda.
