Thank you for this response to that stupid comment. Bringing in and wishing ill upon a real-life person over a fictional character is crazy, and they probably think they’re a better person or have higher morals, than you, just because they sympathize more with a fictional character than you an actual person
In Norn's defense, they said "IF your loved one is abused..." not that they hoped it. They arent wishing ill upon a real life person but rather saying if that scenario were to be true, that they dont experience the blame for the choices they had to make based from their trauma. Sorry, I don't mean to be devils advocate or anything, but I felt it was important to clarify that, seeing as you said they were wishing ill upon a real life person, when that wasnt the case at all. Sorry again, have a good day!
And while I appreciate your defense none of that is relevant because nothing norn said had anything to do with what I said or what was said in the chapter bc I didn't say riftan was in the right yelling at Maxi nor was riftan actually yelling at maxi but norn decided that they had the moral high ground by assuming that 1 I do not empathize with the very real trauma of a person who survived abuse but that I WOULD not empathize with a victim of abuse despite that they don't know me nor my family they seem to feel the need to pull into this situation.
And 2 that I in my real life have no conceptual grasp on the trauma that comes from being in an abusive relationship parent or otherwise and *need* the very real example of someone I hold dear in my life to be abused to compare this FICTIONAL character to and needed it explained to me like I'm a child or at the very least stupid.
Yeah I know what you're talking about and I agree. I mean, I would get angry too bc if my partner decided to go with someone who abused them to the point that Maxi got to, over coming back home with me, I would think something is wrong with me.
Norn was wrong to bring someone's personal family into this, but the only reason I defended them was bc the OG commentor opened up with "
"I hope to achieve such emotional enlightenment that I can see someone I love get beaten and calmly and rationally evaluate the event and approach it in mature manner." Which probably prompted them bringing the personal matter into it. Regardless, they shouldnt have brought it up...it was odd that they think this fictional story should be compared to a strangers personal life

I hope to achieve such emotional enlightenment that I can see someone I love get beaten and calmly and rationally evaluate the event and approach it in mature manner. God forbid a man be upset on his wife's behalf. Mind you this shit is frustrating as fuck they don't fuckin listen to each other . Riftan tells her she's precious to him all the damn time she doesn't fuckin hear it . She tells him she wants to be useful he doesn't fuckin listen .
God I fucking HATE a misunderstanding arc
