Why the mom actually realistic . Not completely terrible but farrrrrrrr from good. Yeah she provides, but it’s out of obligation and she is still neglectful. She technically is present sometimes but there’s no sense of affection, only tolerance. She’s always discouraging and “trying to be realistic”, but really she’s just tearing down the MC mentally (highkey emotional or psychological abuse?) Even when MC is vulnerable and clearly feeling down in the hospital (ch9), the mom doesn’t apologize or comfort her. Instead, she just leaves. She chooses the easy option. That hit the hardest.
