I think you'd probably like the novel, he's still a bit of asshole, will be for a while until a certain arc after which he gets a massive character development in terms of emotions, but the novel gives him inner monologue where he acknowledges what he's doing and i just think the novel actually makes him sympathetic in a way. I stopped reading manhwa after a while but the novel reveals his insecurity about being left behind if he's useless and thus it makes sense why he mostly acts the way he does, also his acknowledgement that he might be an asshole with his actions but it's also to keep the people around him, with him(so they don't leave him behind).
Idk if this makes sense but if you do like this story, I'd reccomend the novel more
How far is that arc
I wish i could tell but i have no idea what arc we're currently in. The arc i was talking about is towards the end of the novel, just before the final arc. It's an arc thats kinda filler but portrays friendship between kiyoung and one of the other important member. And after that arc, Kiyoung does have few more times where he kinda has an emotional development.
But just in general, novel is farr better than the manhwa.
Character development at the end of the novel is crazy sry but im not feeling like enduring giyoungs bs until 2nd to last arc.. (not that im hating im just disappointed the chara development is so late in the game) but thanks for the info gng
At first it was fun and all seeing giyoung being a scumbag and not rlly caring abt ppl around him, but ever since he saw his first life and deokgus death, giyoung started to show more feelings of attachment and care towards deokgu hayan and hyunsung. I rlly got my hopes up high thinking we're gonna see more of this, I rlly liked the chapter where he tried to dedicate the day to hayan and spend time with her. I also rlly liked how emotional he gets when thinking abt deokgus death or how he sometimes fanboys over hyunsung... but after getting to see all these emotions he's capable of showing, now his usual scummy personality isn't as enjoyable tbh its not enjoyable at all anymore. Now I just wish he'd pay more attention to his friends, be nice to hayan and hyunsung. Because fucking hell its getting boring new arc= new harem member= hayan loses her shit again, giyoung makes some bs decisions, plot protects him by making his newest harem member join his side or whatever, but it leaves unpleasant memories for everyone around him
