I mean, I agree from a reader's perspective, and because we know it's a world of fiction, and they are end-game.
But if this was a real life thing? Then what JK is doing is bordering on harassment with the MC doing whatever he can to be professional, and has no obligation to return anyone's feelings in any way, shape or form.
The MC doesn't consider or ponder about a relationship whatsoever with his client, because he wants to keep his job.
Now go back to Season 1: MC actually has fun and relaxes with multiple one night stands. He still has them. I don't really know why you think that his self identity got robbed, which is not true at all...

He literally has tears in his eyes at the end of chapter 44, cause he feels so bad for Jae-kyoung being dragged through the mud. He gets so emotional, since he know how hardworking Jae-kyoung is and you call that a stalemate? ╥﹏╥ bro idk if you would cry for your client. I think that clearly shows how special Jae-kyoung is to Jiheon and that the adores him.
Yeah I know, he's professional. I just wanted him to consider it, like imo he doesn't really show much leniency towards Jaekyung other than friendship and maybe a bit of slight attraction. Like, a bit emotionally dissapated when it comes to dating. In all honestly, I read a lot of comics far and between, so I tend to forget details. When I said self identity, I meant I didn't really remember if there was any mention of the mc's hobbies or interests. What he likes to do for fun, if he has any. Jaekyung's passion is his love for swimming. While I can see the mc does have passion for his job, I just wanted to know more about him in how he lives his life in a different way.
I've seen some real life cases when that's happened. You are right, I didn't see it as character development, but I do now. But in my opinion that's not that much different to how he would've acted in the beginning of the story. Imo, it's more concern like if you were responsible for someone and you felt like you didn't do enough for him. But imagine this: instead of chapter 44 with the mc, after the scene with Jaekyung leaving with his friend, we get a glimpse of his thoughts. We get to see them interact and see their friendship dynamic. Jaekyung opens his messages and takes a peek at the articles. I would've like to see how something like that impacted him or influences the way he acts. I know this is me being picky here, but when it comes to plot, I start getting bored when I see not that much development character wise or emotionally. So I start to wonder about the other character's perspective. This was just me throwing my two cents.
the thing is, the stalement is not just because of their client/management relationship nor his job,...he just likes to put boundaries between his self and relationship with others, he mentions a lot of times how he would treat a different athlete, how he would treat a person he meets for a night of fun, also distance himself when someone gets romantic with them cuz he mentioned he's done with accepting love when he can't receprocate it...but he gets torn on how to treat JK cuz he used to be a hyung he looked up to, then finds out that kid likes you and a somewhat close relationship to their family and is also someone you manage at work...his sense of responsibility is torn on emotional or work while keeping his boundary about romance
That's the thing. When I was younger, I would get mad at how the mc in these romance comics get harassed over and over again and at first didn't fall in love. But then gradually they fell in love every single time. That's why at this point in time I've decided to accept this is the current writing standard for most love stories. Jaekyung got rejected several times, but he keeps pestering the mc even using his own work ethic against him. But they still fall in love in the end. How are we going to get there? The point is, mc already got disrespected, and will probably keep on being disrespected several times before Jaekyung learns how to respect the mc, but only after they get together. I was just wondering when the plot will get to that point, when the mc ultimately catches feelings for Jaekyung.
I see that. Almost several chapters things have been coignant, with a difference with mc's job regarded Jaekyung and the internet. I just tend to get bored when chapters start repeating and I start to wonder of other character perspectives, most importantly, Jaekyungs'. I'm just saying it would've been nice to see a switch up of perspectives so that the plot doesn't go as stale. I know this is based of the novel, so this is just an issue I have regarding romance comics in general.
I feel like at this point in plot would've been a good time to see things from Jaekyung's perspective and see his thoughts. Since the mc is still adamant of doing his job, it feels like we're in a stalemate. Also, it's a bit sad to see that while yes, the mc shouldn't be outright having an intense relationship with his client, he doesn't consider or ponder about it at all. I know one of the plot points was that the mc chooses his job over his partner, but I wish he'd learn to balance the two. He doesn't let himself have fun and relax. Right now it feels like the mc's job has taken over his thoughts more than anything else. His fear of failure/adventure has robbed him much of his self identity.
