Mia actually isn’t being controlled, she’s more desperate to be someone. She is following orders but she’s doing it willingly later on she will even take credit for something FL does so ppl can think she’s the reincarnation of the Saintess (this part really annoyed me) in the end she continues doing this stuff and if I remember correctly she becomes the last villain they have to fight.
