1) Pace. If this were given proper pacing, the plot would have enough space to ripen. Plot reveal wouldn't be as anticlimactic. Dialogue wouldn't be as lukewarm. Storytelling wouldn't be as bad as this because some scenes (like key plot mysteries) were just revealed so matter-of-factly that us readers did not have time to be immersed in the plot. Plot moved too fast, the story had no time for emotional build up. This story should have been twice as long but they cut it so short, it should've qualified as a news report...
2) Punishment is lukewarm. Conrand Heronis the Duke, was just a disappointing narcissistic character through and through. Eunice Heronis the Duchess was a third-rate villain who died off just as quick. If you guys have fallen in love with each other, just let the previous Duchess (mother of FL) go. Why kill her off the cruelest way possible... Playing the victim card for years at that.. I wish more scenes were shown on the Duke's suffering & remorse. They were finished off too fast. They never even got to go crazy with guilt.. On that note, cheating is NEVER OKAY guys.
3) Eunice blamed everything on fate. She forgot, humans have free will. That's why humans would still be accountable by their actions. Even up to her death, she placed the blame on fate for everything happening to former Duchess. B*tch, your evil hands made her that way, not fate.
4) Ending is just as disappointing as the entire story.
