There is a novel, its set in the same universe as Cherry Cake so I would guess it will have a happy ending based on how Cherry Cake went. But I havhave not yet read the Dog on the Hutch
the English translator for the novel is currently on hiatus, but at the last translated chapter, it was on the way to a good ending
