I truly love the novel as it shows alot more raw feelings of riftan. That man truly has been obsessed with her since day 1. Its not shown very well here but the novel yes!!!
Exactly!!! I also Agree.. It's such a shame we can't see or feel what he's truly thinking. But also in this scene it's more raw because they are communucating, trying to communicate openly.. That's why. I cannot wait to see this as a manwha.. I hope the artist portrays this scene as well.
I read the book, as of the chapters I am at there's no sign of divorcing. SPOILERS though, Riftan wants to declare a war towards Lord Cyoso (Maxi's Father) and obviously that prideful egotistic mother fucking father doesn't back down so he files a complaint against Riftan for attacking him. That would cost Riftan to lose all his assets, such as being the Lord of Anatol, the strongest Knight, lands, money, etc. He will lose his title.
And Maxi doesn't want that even if to Riftan ut doesn't matter as long as she's with him. But Maxi can't bare the guilt, so She and Princess Agnes planned to declare that She is along with the World Tower Wizard Organization, making her superior and powerful (Since she already saved people through magic during the war) But in a ciuple pf investigations if it is to be found that she's not yet registered it will also backlash instead so she has to be registered and in order to do that, she has to go and serve the World Tower Wizard organization for atleast 3-5 years.. So she will have to leave Riftan. ┗( T﹏T )┛ obviously Riftan doesn't want that since he's been longing for her since then even before she knew him. He waited so long just to reach her. Still (She goes to serve) and Riftan says, "If you go, I will not wait for you anymore". And on the day of departure for Maxi, Riftan didn't actually say goodbye.. But the moment the ship launches off the dock, he ran and yelled "It was a lie, I lied about not waiting for you" while crying. (Though Maxi didn't heard that.. But the knights did witness him crying LOL)
Why should their love story be full of sacrifice and pain like this *cry*
Then after Maxi leaves, will Riftan still lose everything?I'm sorry, but can you give me a little more spoilers about them?
No, the point of her leaving is to tell or prove the court that she is with the World Tower Wizard organization. And since her father Lord Cyoso was actually going to use wizards to help him with his complaints against Riftan it will no longer work since Maxi is with them.. so he must withdraw in order to avoid embarrassment, ending to Riftan keeping his title, money, castle, etc.
So he keeps everything right? Though he would much preffered it if Maxi was with him instesd of keeping everything and losing the only woman he loved.
About Two years time skip Maxi is in the Tower. Riftan's Pov, Rosetta (Maxi's sister) was married to the Royal Prince right? They have a child together and Riftan attends this party for the baby, like to celebrate the heir. He sees the baby and Boom he remembers Maxi and what could've been their child ╥﹏╥ it's so sad honestly..
Anyways, The World Tower Wizard ORG was strict so there aren't much letter allowed except this one time.. A limit of only 10 pages was allowed and Maxi writes over a long ass letter that can be compared to a table cloth LMAO. The deliverer made her write less to 5 pages only or the deliverer won't stamp and accept the letter and give it to him. So, no choice even though she had so much to ssy for the past 2 years.
There was this contest something² in the World Tower Wizard Org.. And Maxi joined this to show her skills, she submitted her formula first before passing it towards the competition.. And then she was called that her formula was amazing since it can create monsters.. That's when they realize her inventions were dsngerous. Then the World Tower Wizard Org proposed an expedition, and Maxi was low rank still and oniy Hugh Rank wizards were allowed.. But She was recommended by her mentor to join so she's in. Coincidentally their first landing was ANATOL. (Nobody knows she's the Wife of the lord of the Anatol btw.. Which is kinda funny because everyone's reaction when they resch the Dock) (I think it was Sir Uly that they met st the dock, but ut was a Remdragon Knight)
Caito or something the one who led the expedition was about to refuse Sir Uly's offer of staying at Anatol's Castle but when Sir Uly saw Maxi they greeted one another and eveyone was shock to have found out that she is the Lady of Anatol. So they stayed at the Castle of Anatol.. Maxi was about to ask Riftan's whereabouts but he wasn't around at the moment because he went to an expedition aswell or sonething like that.. Then Maxi went back to their room then there she saw her letters to him, knowing he read them made her heart ache and soften. :))) Do you want me to continue??? ヾ(☆▽☆) (I forgot the names for some reason so I'm not quite sure if the names I'm mentioning are exact somethibg close to that? Continuation then, After Maxi saw the letters Riftan kept so dearly it's a time skip.
Alongside with the Remdragon Knights and Riftan together with the World Tower Wizard who went on an expedition to explore more about the monster's camp base (includes Maxi). They are camping to explore more and find the base of the monsters. Riftan was about to leave with his knights so Maxi rose up but wondered what would she say to him? She doesn't know how to face his rage yet after leaving him.
Then like a meeting between the Wizards. Calto the one who led the expedition explained that they only know so little about the Army base of the monsters and blah blah blah, the info about the monster's base was kept from the nobles etc. etc. They also argued that their plan was only find the base not attack so the other low rank wizards like Maxi (i think) felt deceived, something like that but Kuahel assured them that once they locate the base the other seven kingdoms will participate especially high mages. Etc. Etc.
This argument had a curt tone and it snapped Msxi back to reality.. She pursued Riftan and offered her bowl saying "Mine is ready as well so you take this." Riftan the Pouty brat he is he scowled but still accepted the bowl. Then as Riftan left, Maxi hurriedly grabbed her share and got some loaf of bread and cheese.
Maxi saw Riftan infront of the Remdragon's tent so she walked up to them and the other knights got the hint and left them alone, Maxi was grateful for that.
Riftan didn't looked up (basically pouting baby and ignoring Maxi) Maxi felt nervous and her anxiety rush in so she spoke first.
"Do you like it? I made it".
Then boom he ignores her even more and continues eating (〜￣△￣)〜 so Maxi kept talking enthusiastically.. Maxi rambled about the last memory of her and Riftan eating stew similar like this. Explaining she liked that flavor Riftan made so she came up with hers similar to it that made people like her cooking. Then she continues explaining while Riftan is COLD AS HELL. She explains that she had a fair shsre of cooking at the Mage Tower and that she may not have the talent for it but she has improved atleast.
Then she continues explaining her friends whom she makes meal to and then was cut off by Riftan. "Aren't you going to eat?"
Maxi flinched and closed his mouth then Riftan continues with his cold as bratty ahdhsiks dumb asshole tone （￣へ￣）
"We are to ride again at daybreak, I suggest you eat and sleep instesd of this chatter"
*Then Maxi responds in a stutter way* "I- I was only hoping to talk to you for a bit—"
But befofe she can finish her words that MAN LEFT and walked away towards the other Knights... And MAXI THOUGHT in his mind that RIFTAN didn't even realized Msxi Gave her the largest meat (︶︿︶)＝凸 (was pissed at this frr.. But I also cannot blame him BUT WTF RIFTAN?! it's been TWO YEARS.. Be happy you met her again and as early as promised too, BE GRATEFUL)
Tell me if you want more ヾ(☆▽☆) ALSO A LITTLE SPOILER AHEAD FOE THE NEXT CHAPTERS AFTER THIS (THEY WILL HAVE S3X IN A CAVE LMAO after all that sulking and ignoring they got pent up XDDDD because they got attacked and Obviously Riftan COMES TO SAVE his only Woman and they got seperated from the team. And Maxi is injured, yeah she is but THEY STILL DO IT LMAO ლ(´ڡ`ლ) though Riftan was like "This is not how I planned to doing it here with you" then Maxi says "It doedn't matter I liked it" or something like that.. Not exact words but as Riftan was cleaning her up that's their convo.. Something² HEHEHEHEH tell me if you want me to continue up to this Cave Scene.

I understand your frustration with Riftan’s personality and attitude. Dealing with someone like him in real life would honestly be exhausting and frustrating, But at the same time, I’m not really surprised anymore because I’ve gotten so used to his character. Bro’s anger issues are genuinely off the charts, lol.
Still, I kind of understand where he’s coming from. He’s clearly still hurt and sulking over the fact that his wife left him for all those years, and him not considering the fact that it most have been hard and painful for her too.
And thank you so much for the spoilers. Please, we need more, especially about the cave scenes and everything that happens later. I’m really hoping they finally communicate properly, forgive each other, and end up living happily together because these two seriously deserve peace after all that suffering

“You… you’ve been in my mind ever since.” Max paused and raised her head. Riftan had a bewildered look on his face and his arms were drooping helplessly. He muttered his words as if he were confessing to her. “There wasn’t a single moment that I didn’t think of you. Even back when you didn’t know that I existed in this world, you were the only one I had.”
“Ah…”
She couldn’t understand what he was saying, and her lips shook. Bitter, salty tears seeped into her mouth. Her wretched appearance reflected in his desolate eyes.
“The more that I yearned for you, the more pointless it became, even though I became miserable… I couldn’t stop.” Riftan’s lips twitched slightly. “Many times, many times I thought about giving up. I thought to myself, I should stop now. The more that I thought about you, the lonelier I felt. I was alone, no matter who I was with. Many days, I tried to get rid of my thoughts of you. I told myself to stop wis.h.i.+ng for someone I couldn’t reach. Over and over again, I decided to stop… but every time I came back to my senses, I would always be chasing after you.”
He pressed his fist to his forehead and closed his eyes tightly. “I don’t think my heart is mine. From the moment I first saw you, it was no longer mine. And yet… how could you be nothing. How could you be nothing…”
