So during the trip with her half brother and sister, fl gets taken by a monster attack and bc ml left to defend the siblings fl ends up having her legs severely damaged. Ml says he needs to take responsibility for fl getting injured and breaks marriage agreement with the half sister and marries fl.
Ml takes her back to his territory and she becomes the duchess. However due to her injured legs, fl is constantly under drugs to take away the pain and refuses to eat.
Ml ‘helps’ her take medication/ liquids by essentially making out with her and transferring the medication into her mouth.
From there things escalate and fl decides she doesn’t want to be her mom’s pawn and wants to get pregnant by her own will. Ml took literally no convincing and they do the dirty almost every day at this point
Fl gets pregnant and starts to become healthier and more loving as the pregnancy progresses. But at 6 months she gives birth to a stillborn baby.
She struggles severely, but at the same time ml has to leave for war. So he leaves to the front lines. One day while fl is out not long after the birth, there’s a magical wolf pup that’s about to be killed that somehow has the same eyes as the ml and fl adopts it and raises it. Ml comes back and fl is super happy but the wolf is like 6ft tall on all four legs. People are scared of the wolf but fl has it tamed. Something happens (we still don’t know yet) between the fl and ml’s younger brother that causes the wolf to attack the brother and almost kill him.
Ml goes out to hunt the wolf bc it ran away. Fl tells him that she heard that babies not baptized before they die reincarnate into wild animals. So she’s convinced the wolf is their reincarnated son reborn. However ml goes and kills the wolf before leaving she again for the front lines. When he returns the fl is much calmer and is actually well tempered, and the people actually like her.
He gets word that the crown prince (fl half brother) has been kidnapped and ml has to go rescue him. While away, the ml/fl’s castle is attacked.
Apparently the fl lead the charge and helped save thousands of lives with her smart thinking until ml gets there. But it’s too late.
When ml comes back to see his people are saved, the fl is dead.
The novel is still updating but currently the ml is fucked up and can barely keep it together. He’s super fragile but still maintained his cold exterior despite everything.
We find out that the reason ml always goes to help the half siblings is because their mom had cast a spell on him to always protect them. And that the reason behind him always being drawn to the fl is because she always draws out the human side in him and makes him feel alive, although he looks cold on the outside.
But in the latest chapters he’s so fucked by the fl’s death that his own body refuses to accept her death.
He also admitted to himself/ reader that he’s been drawn to the fl since their first meeting and feels nothing for the half-sister.

Something that gets brought up quite often is that the old duke thought the ml had powers since those in his past lineage did. That’s why the ml was abused to become like a ‘shell’. But the ml constantly denies that he has powers. I think what might happen is that he has a hidden power that could awaken after the fls death and maybe bring her back..?
I definitely think the novel it gonna go for another 25-50 chapters depending on how the author writes it. Praying for our beautiful fl to come back
We also get to see the ml’s pov quite a bit in later chapters so he might be Mc until the fl comes back

UPDATE:
We got three more chapters this week- ml is hitting an all time low and drinking himself until he sleep. The maids told him that the nanny of the fl was taking the fl’s stuff to go make the queen and ml threw A FIT (actually satisfying).
ML finds the fl’s dairy and starts reading through it. At one point he starts crying and the novel says he literally feels like he’s being ripped apart. He sobs and screams for so long that he literally passes out.
The last chapter ends off on him reading another diary he found from her.

The nanny that took care of the fl decided to move back to where the queen lives since fl is currently dead. Nanny was packing a bunch of the fl’s stuff to take with her saying ‘the queen would like a piece of her daughter’. Please pardon my spelling errors ╥﹏╥

Honestly I feel like it’s been a minute since I’ve seen a story that’s not afraid to show despair. Like yes it’s really really fucking sad. But not all stories get a happy ending. If anything it feels more realistic, like real people suffer, they progress, they relapse, and the change.
I’ve read up to chapter 240 in the novel, and yeah it definitely gets worse from here.
But it really makes me realize that my problems ain’t shit
