I don't really know why you guys find it confusing..
'Cause we put a "T/N: Yes, it's Kawasaki's apartment TT__TT" on that scene when Honda was running (like his life depended on it) up the stairs so that he can tell Kaido the good news(him being accepted at a job).. He realized when he opened the door that it wasn't their(his and Kaido's apartment) it's Kawasaki's, and sadly, he also realized what a fool he had been when he thought he can let got of Kaido and now come to a conclusion he wanted to be the person to be at Kaido's side..
how did he mix the apartments up? wouldn't he recognize which is which?
You know, he said "it became so natural for me".. Meaning he totally forgot that he was currently living with Kawasaki at the moment.. Totally forgot, gaaa~ that's why he smack his head 'cause he freaking forgot.
And by the way, I don't think Honda and Kaido's apartment is in the same complex/area with Kawasaki..

No it already happened when they were younger, at the begining of their relationship their was something similar... And now that they have grown there are dealing with the same childish issue so yeah kind of WTF ^^
