I think the author just wanted to prove that kyoto is always the best bf of all the time,,,but people normally don't choose someone like kyoto cause they have feelings for someone like the childhood friend,,so i think the author wanted to warn us to choose wisely,,,so people choosee someone like kyoto or maybe be someone like kyoto,,, i don't know what i just blurted out (⊙…⊙ )
