she did not die yet, but she’s dying and that’s why we see dan having a conversation with the doctor (and he refers to it in the chapter where he’s talking to JK on the beach) he’s probably telling him about the cancer and how’s she’s slowly dying
i don’t think there’s going to be one because grandma is going to die soon like soon soon so they’ll have to see each other there imo it’s the event that is going to bring them together or at least have them meet again
