they meet up a couple more times after this in pretense of “helping out” its quite clear they both have feelings for each other but the past still weighs them down in the middle of this alex finds out about his father who was living in Philippines(? not too sure anymore) and he realises hed simply been abandoned he became very depressed after this but he also wanted to let Nathan know the truth about his feelings so he confessed…well nathan rejects him as he feels he cant forgive him but they remain in “good” terms the really pretty beta whose also interested in Nathan after getting attacked shes put in special watch which Alex visits..there she asks alex abt nathan and asks him for favor kinda like “set me up” but not sure of her exact words anymore..however for reasons i lit dont remember she fucking goes out maybe because she was bored which alex is immediately alerted about and searches for her (finds her near nathans house) meanwhile nathan is attending a class reunion which alex didnt attend and he finds out about the truth from a female classmate after much deliberation and he crashes out and regrets everything he said or done to alex at that point and immediately rushes to find him..alex finds the girl but she was already in face with the beta attackers he saves her by telling her to run and she runs into nathan who immediately asks where alex is and heads there.He finds Alex but he was too late alex was already stabbed but hed manage to subdue the attacker and nathan calls 911..we find out that the attacks were directly related to that jock from their old school with the little brother complex who was finding these betas for kind of an experiment or smth for his brother who was now sick
after this its pretty typical the jock gets arrested and alex eventually wakes from the coma and nathan takes care of him throughout and their relationship becomes official around this time frame
ive already read the novel but every chapter still feels like death to me cant believe we gotta wait another week
