Yeah, but guess the one thing both situations have in common is that the victim is a man, and that’s the real double standard people keep missing. Because let’s be real, if a woman was being raped and abused by a man under the excuse of “BDSM,” nobody would be saying “just drop it if you can’t handle it” or “you saw the tags before reading.” People would rightfully call it disgusting immediately.
A lot of these excuses just come from people who are comfortable seeing male suffering being trivialized or fetishized, but then turn around and preach about equality and advocacy when the genders are reversed. And that hypocrisy is what makes these discussions frustrating.
People can consume dark fiction if they want, nobody is stopping that. But there’s a huge difference between enjoying problematic fiction and outright defending or justifying rape because “it’s fiction.” Fictional or not, abuse is still abuse, and calling it out shouldn’t suddenly become controversial depending on the victim’s gender
Naahh what r u talking about?? If it were story about man being abusive to a woman, whether it's josei or seinen, you won't be seeing me roasting the author in the comment sections of it's chapter 37 cuz I won't be reading/immediately dropping the manhwa in the first place. Like, that yuck is not for me, but it's someone else's yum
Long reply ahead.
I never said it is wrong to call it rape, this story for sure contains rape and abuse. I never deny that. Else i would be commenting on every criticsm comment on this chapter. I want to say my piece too, just like people who criticize this manhwa. I am prepared to see people calling this manhwa out.
Of course, you can like femdom without liking the rape part. I wonder if it's pointless to explain to you that some people can also have fantasy of the other side, that you might not agree on, for whatever reason. I for one, am partial to abusive or healthy potrayal of sexual relationship in fiction, as long as I got what I want: femdom. But i know some people in fandom space who fantasize about rape (whether inflicing or inflicted) with fictional character. Hope this helps.
Clock it. And again one thing I’ve noticed is that people only seem bold enough to publicly glorify, joke or talk about rape fantasies and kinks mostly in yaoi or femdom spaces, where the victim is usually a man. But the moment a woman is the victim, suddenly everyone understands boundaries, empathy, and morality.
Even the same people defending it as “fetish” would start backtracking fast if the genders were reversed, because they already know the reaction they’d get. That alone exposes the hypocrisy in these fandom spaces.
People can separate fiction from reality, sure, but the way some readers openly trivialize male victims while treating female victims completely differently is honestly disturbing. The double standard in parts of the manhwa community is obvious at this point
I see this shit all the time and people think that fiction is completely separate from reality. Reality shapes our fiction at the end of the day. And if your reaction to rape being depicted is “well as long as a get my femdom it’s ok” I’m sorry but I don’t have faith you would stand by and support survivors afflicted by it. I guarantee you this person wouldn’t want to hear these exact words if a man was talking about his hentai.
Pfft yeah you literally takes my word and went far with in in your own scenario. I don't have to prove anything to you, an online commenter, whenever i support irl survivors and victims in my socmed or irl activities. You can't gurantee shit, bcz you act like it's enough to summarize someone's entire alignment based on what they showed online.
I have cishet male coworkers who brought up his favorite hentai during lunch break with our group. As a bi, I actually enjoy joking around about fictional women getting hot as long as they're not speaking of irl women.
But like, your world view is already limited to begin with. You haven't seen people who can separate fiction from reality, and function like a normal human being with common sense, so you generalize us.
Keep twisting my words queen, surely enough you will be politician if you commit to this <3
Go on, keep framing me or people who enjoy this manhwa as the enabler of "rape culture" instead of turning off brain when reading fictional works, as if that will change authors' mind about the plot of this manhwa though. Maybe that will help you cope while hate-reading this.

Y'all glazing her cause she's a woman doing this to a man switch the roles around and y'all gonna rain hellfire on the artist and the character lmao
