Gotta admit, I imagined something healthier and less problematic from the creator of Hatsukoi no Tonari.
I think how you feel about this story will really depend on whether you decide to have any sympathy for Idzuki. If you can sympathise with his insecurity and relationship trauma and believe that he is a confused mess who is involuntarily reacting unreasonably, then you can read this feeling glad for him that he met someone who was willing to be patient and reliable so he could overcome this.
If not, you'll basically hate him as someone that was created with a weak excuse to create problems with their relationship for the sake of making the story more "interesting."
