im so super very glad that they stay together obviously!!! but was anyone else a little surprised that hojoong went about it in that way? ofc he has grown a special connection with ricky overtime, but he has continuously shown that he wanted to make up for his past way before anything. seeing him run away from it all even though he was the one to initiate it makes me want to reinterpret his character because i didnt really understand the direction... comparing it to his initial ending, is it because that he finally has a semblance of companionship (a significant change from the main story, tho im still figuring out how it would affect his decision) or is it because trying to conclude that part of his life is innately impossible and will only lead to more suffering (hence why even he was confused as to why he was responding that way)? is it both? im stupid so i dont knoww,,,, i first thought it flattened his character, but pondering about it more makes me hesitant to say that, because it may just be to convey the overarching logic.
