Ok the plot part I understand but the art is not bad at all tf you mean?
Flat expressions, stiff poses, bad proportions. The lack of shading or any light source at all makes the pages look really boring and the shadow placement disjointed. the stiff poses comes from the fact that the characters don't interact with their backgrounds enough, so it tends to look as if they are simply floating above the bed or couch etc rather than actually physically lying on it and letting their weight press onto the surface.. The artist likes to draw muscles but she doesn't know how muscles work and is really bad at conveying volume, so not only are the muscles drawn incorrectly, the characters also end up moving like ball jointed dolls rather than humans with muscle and flesh
Finally, it just has really bad panelling..... it's so visually uninteresting that I cant enjoy it at all....
A good example I'd say of expressive characters with dynamic panelling and good shading is Pearl Boy. Like compare the range of expressions the average pearl boy character has versus this series, or the range of poses and camera angles you'd see a pearl boy character in compared to this,youll find that the art in this series is a lot more limited. Pearl boy isn't without it's flaws either, the proportions can get crazy, the colouring sucked ass in the earlier half of the series and the plot is even more of a mess, but the way the artist conveyed tone through their colours, shading, and panels made it thrilling to read along to compared to this series that makes you feel nothing.
