The thing about these stories, the reason why despite the fact that I cry anyhow during sad songs, sad edits, when a character I like dies but my eyes are dry in these kind of stories, is if the FL never reaches the breaking point...the relationship will never change, it's always regret after divorce but had there been no divorce she and so many other FLs would be miserable for the rest of their lives.
I'm so tired of men being these people women have to change in real life and fiction, women are constantly making and building them through their emotional labor and efforts, it's exhausting to see.
This is why I prefer the ones with villainess characters, or puppy mls, or the second chance ones when the FL finds a new man.
