Unfortunately this is very true to the novel in every sense. It seems like this was written after Don't Mess with the Pooch, too, so it's just a real downgrade as a follow-up.
May be it was written before but published later bc this is truly too much of a downgrade in sense of writing but then again CBAW is a trainwreck rn..
Tbh I really disliked CBAW when it was still completed with 3 seasons so I shudder to think what it must be like now after a random comeback. ಠ__ಠ
This author has another story with a proper plot and sex scenes came later. If the author has followed the same formula with slightly different plot points even this would be a hit. I haven't read this novel but the other adaptation was good. The art is to die for, the premise is okay but the plot progression is total trash.
