Actually, he wont be useless because what her intentions was although she wants to be with him, she cant because whoever killed him could use her because she becomes his weakness. And she wants to protect him so that he doesnt get murdered. So she wants to get adopted by a strong family and make him her knight so that he stays with her while she is living in her adopted family's house.
So she went back in time to be family with her uncle, but when he tried to adopt her she said no and chose another family? Then what was the whole point of having that dude in the story in the first place? He’s just a useless guy then if her goal is to be adopted by a whole nother family
