Very rushed... but better than 100 more chapters of pull and push with the empress... I think we could've had 15-20ch more just so it wouldn't feel that rushed... but more than that would feel like stretching.
I'm kinda happy it was short cuz I'm tired of 150ch+ comics... I don't have the patience to wait that long to know the ending when they are ongoing and just... read the spoilers or novel instead..
About the king... I also feel bad for him... but better than him keep being manipulated by her or something. In my head... he depodes her and married the painter lady whom was glad to raise the prince and had a lovely daughter and lived happily ever after...
