If you mean the last panel of ch 18 where she has her eyes closed, then I'm pretty sure those are very necessary to indicate that even when her eyes are closed she still has eyes, it's the art style. To me it doesn't make them look old but everyone has there own views on it.

I hope the artist would stop drawing lines above and below their eyes. They make the characters look older.
