Agreed. ML could go south (and not in the good way) way too easily. He's gotten attached to an already fragile and traumatized woman he doesn't even know, and he's already dreaming way too ahead of himself. How could he expect no issues in the future? The difference is evil guy already had a record of such behavior, and had more time to develop in such a toxic way. ML is a hairline away, and I refuse to except the classic "bad childhood/blah blah blah" as an excuse for any behavior he shows throughout this.
