There are many stories that go over 400 chapters and you can feel it, the drag that is. The plot is complex for nothing but being complex, that said, I agree with you that this is technically long but doesn’t feel long.
I enjoy this story so much that I forgot that this could technically still all be setup for a much larger story. To me, can’t speak for everyone else it balances grandeur with small moments really well. I hope I get another 500 chapters from this universe because to me this is like a modern day bleach or Naruto in terms of quality and length. It has the Batman level street fights and even though the MC wins, there is still cost. I can’t help but root for him.
The author is something special and I hope they continue to take their time.

Same. I've been reading this for a few years already and even if it's already more than 400 chapters, theyre ironically still more memorable than other stories with less chapters. It doesnt feel too long but I've been seeing others complain about how it's "dragged out". I've read mangas with more chapters than this
For anyone complaining that it's being dragged out, i need yall to remember that we arent even at the apex yet. The story still has a long way to go before reaching that part especially since it's been heavily foreshadowed that the final antagonist isnt any of the top 10 but the threat posed by the drug eclipse and how non awakeners might handle awakeners. This is the same author as noblesse. It WILL take a long while for it to be complete. So marinate it for longer if you lack patience.
