this would've been perfect if it wasn't for the rape scene. i know it was supposed to show mc's degree of desperation, but they executed it horribly that it felt icky—they could've decided to just stop from the moment mc broke ml's ankle, and it would still have the same level of impact

after dying for more than 500 times, something will eventually get a screw loose.
overall, the manhwa is funny and i feel like there's always something lurking much darker or a twist in this veil of comedy.

also, special mention to mc's fuckass "ml" face lmao

I mean yeah tbh but i think that was meant to show how he was genuinely becoming the toxic ml he wanted to avoid
Which lead to him now wanning to make up for it and everything

exactly what i just said dawggg

i just meant that something as heinous as rape can never be this "easy to repent" from as shown in the manhwa. if they want to make the MC "make up" for it, then why make it a half-assed attempt.

granted it's a comedy manhwa and im stretching it too much, but they should've just disregarded the SA route and went to a different path that would've the same effect, if not better. that's what got me raising an eyebroww. i understand for some that it's not that deep. enjoy what you read for leisure, but hey, it's a nice change of pace to criticize a work every now and then

i think you're simply underestimating the influence the system had on him, both personality- and sanity-wise, it wasn't "the desperation" that was shown there, it was literally portraying him going _insane_ and _losing himself_ while becoming something that the system desires him to be(an obsessive TOP, not just a gangster). also the story seems to be like a caricature of "typical obsessive ml in bl" trope. and the caricature is supposed to be ugly/make you feel uncomfortable

and i am saying this as someone who usually HATES it when the story pretends to be fluff/comedy and then pulls out the despicable r*pe card out of nowhere(it's literally one of the worst things that the story can do to its readers, because when the set-up seems nice/comfy and does not have any foreshadowings/warnings, then as a reader you usually expect it to stay that way instead of it suddenly turning into a dark story..."if i want to read smth dark, i just go and read stories that imply dark-stuff from the start", that's my motto...)
but in this case? this is a story where sh1t like this is totally expected to happen because it implies that "things are going to get worse" from ch1. and i'm not even talking about the way they've given us a sneak peek of what's going to happen in the future, but about the whole set-up from the get-go. the guy literally died 500 times, and even though it was shown in a comedic way, it's the setting that literally screams "he is going to lose his mind even BEFORE he meets the supposed 'love interest'" if you think about it for more than a second..and the way he is so clumsy when taking "i'm gonna make things better" route is also understandable(atp MC can't even remember some details about HIS REAL self from before he got dragged into this ridiculous mess, of course he won't be able to "redeem himself" in a NORMAL way....he is not normal after going through all that, that's the point of the story)
so yeah, considering this is supposed to be a short story, the execution doesn't seem *that* bad so far..although idk about the ending
