I'm not an emotional person, however sometimes I'll accidentally mirror emotions visually not emotionally when I feel invested in a character enough. Him finding his mother, her being better and well and yet she didn't go to find him, and him forgiving that, him wishing she would be so happy that she never goes looking for him as the only thing she'll find out is that he died. Made my eyes water uncontrollably because his did.
I'm not as kind as him, I hope she goes looking, I hope she realises that her son is gone, that she regrets leaving him behind. She should've taken him with her, I hope him visiting makes her remember her son, I hope she goes to find him only to be struck by the heartbreaking knowledge that he died, that he grew up to be such a good man that he died protecting a little boy. He did what she couldn't, he saved a little boy, different situations sure, but she abandoned a little boy, her little boy. She left him to an unknown fate, perhaps even death at a young age, yet he grew up, waited for her, he was such a kind man much unlike his father despite being exposed to that man's violence for probably longer then even her, and yet he was nothing like his father or mother, as he had the ultimate kindness in his heart.
I want her to realise her mistakes, I want her to cry for her son, I want her to grieve him, he deserves to be grieved properly. She shouldn't get to live in a bubble of current happiness forgetting her son, forget your past husband if you wish I don't care, but your son did nothing wrong. I'm not saying she should be miserable or anything. She should just.. properly grieve him and understand how kind he was, the kind son she abandoned to a horrible life instead of taking with her grew up to be a man far kinder than she is.
