Ok first they say it wouldn't make sense to kill the emperor bc he needs to make babies first, but then the prime minister sends poisoned cake that would've put the emperor at death's door. Dinah makes plans to befriend FL but later basically bullies her at that hunting tea party to "put her in her place". And it doesn't even feel like the characters have a change of heart, the story just forgets what it already told its readers.
