he wasn't planning on killing them. the original plot was that he does it by accident due to the curse taking over, then spends the rest of the story being guilty. It's actually not MLs fault in this one
He never hurt mc or his daughter, those were false memories planted by the cousin guys. He was capable of hurting them though if he loved them and the curse took over so that's why he neglected them. There's no book, no alternate timeline.
