Imma be honest, this is one of the trashiest stories I’ve read in a cool minute. There really was nothing at all good about this story. No one was likeable. Apparently I looked ahead and saw the finale is chapter 25. So I guess that’s the end of the story?? This manhwa ended back in 2024.
Now I’m gonna rant about all the things that I hated and the things that happened:
So the “ML” took over the OG Nokgyeong’s body early in the story, and we never actually see the OG Nokgyeong again. The yokai/demon/spirit guy just takes up the entire story. He started dating MC early, but at some point meets the same one night stand dude at work (mc’s job actually) as an actor. The twink tries to threaten him, saying he could get mc’s movie canceled cause he slept with the higher up and has a say in the investment. So then the ML gives in. It does still count as cheating though..especially when he was blushing and looked like he enjoyed the blowjob, pulling him in and saying to take it deeper. MC catches them after they finish and he’s only mad for a little bit, gets all drunk after the incident. When they’re at home, ML pushes mc to have sex despite him resisting. (He did also make mc suck the same dick the twink sucked that same day). During the sex, ML realizes he loves mc and confesses. Mc is happy. MC doesn’t mention anything about the cheating in the morning. (Which I did not see anything about the ML messing with his memory). I genuinely believe MC is a doormat and just didn’t care about the cheating. He’s more happy he finally got ML’s “I love you” confession. And then they happily continue.
Anyways moving on, remember that same day mc got drunk the day of the cheating? He got taken home by ML. And the twink tried taking pictures of them, but his phone exploded and he got scarred from the incident. (Possible magic from either ML or that other spirit dude that shows up later). The twink just randomly is angry and decides “I want them both dead.” Someone in the comments said “the twink had a reasonable crash out just cause he got fucked by the guy he thought he was dating and got used.” That’s not true. They had a one night stand and the twink automatically assumed they should date from then on. The day after the one night stand, the ML rejected him saying he doesn’t want to date him. Then the twink showed up at their workplace to threaten and then actually physically stab them both. He’s genuinely just a psycho. No reason to defend him.
The ML and MC get treated for their injuries. MC wakes up and the other yokai guy explains the situation, as well as gives him the memory ML took of him discovering his identity. The yokai says everything will return to the way it was, his friend will have his body back but he won’t remember the romantic moments you guys shared, you’ll just be friends. Meanwhile, mc is just worried about the ML and not the OG nokgyeong, asking what’ll happen to the ML. I’m unsure of the exact details but it looks like the yokai placed him back during the time he was happiest, which was in the historical era, watching over people happily. He doesn’t remember anything. MC waits for his friend to recover and is all depressed and crying about wanting to see the ML. Time passes and he says that life moves on, and the end scene is him getting a call that OGnokgyeong wakes up, he’s all happy. The end. Looks like the ML and MC don’t end up together. - - - My thoughts:
MC is a doormat. He likes his friend for SEVEN YEARS but easily falls for the new ML. Worrying more about the new ML who cheated and TRICKED him. MC is an idiot.
OG nokgyeong. The story didn’t have any screentime of him after like the first 3 chapters, so it’s hard to judge whether I like his character. From the small amount of screentime we got of him, he seems nice. Though idk if he had any feelings for mc. Yeah he’s a playboy. I’m still curious because mc said he messed around with women. But apparently he was talking to that one guy?? So was he bi? Did he ever have actual feelings for mc or was it just platonic and he wasn’t attracted to mc? I don’t blame him because he just looked friendly with mc, doesn’t look like he seriously led him on. So I feel bad that his body was taken over and his body was used to have sex with ppl without his control/knowledge. Bro’s actually a victim. Tbh I thought if the author explored his character more, I would’ve preferred him to the spirit dude.
ML is just trash. He just uses ppl as food. He did cheat, and only realized he loved mc after he cheated. There’s not really anything good to say since he was deceiving Mc the entire time. He did say “sorry” at one point referring to the situation (ofc Mc didn’t understand what he was sorry about).
