just started reading this, and i LOVE mc (top)'s wife. she actually feels like a person, instead of a female character there to check off boxes. i noticed that, while a lot of bl authors try to give female charas more dimension and variety to subvert outdated female character stereotypes, they still have relatively flat one-note personalities and motivations, and are used as tools for the mcs's growth and plot development, instead of being fleshed out characters with dynamic personalities (altho this is usually a marker of bad writing rather than misogyny). most female charas in bls are relegated to these boxes: the loyal and manly bestie, the fujoshi ally, supportive or evil mother, the "straight man" secretary-type, cute little girl, or scorned, jealous bitch (usually either arrogant rich girl or white lotus). the mc's wife/bestie is so much more than that-- she's a great comedic foil to the mc and grear platonic friend, she's a niave shelterd rich girl but not spoiled rotten and is willing to work and to become less reliant on mc, a theatrical crybaby capable of lying, a beauty who cares about her appearance but not shallow or vain, and a cat mom (lol). anyway, i love her, she feels like a mc herself, and i hope the story stays consistent in her writing.

edit: ok nvm the mc ISNT a top, he's a bottom, he's just been turned into a bottom bc of his love interest lmao. anyway, loved that the wife got her own happy ending. by the end, she matured into a productive member of society and grew independent enough to decide her own marriage. the story truly makes mc and her relationship feel like their orbits were simply intersecting when they were married, instead of her being written as a tool that revolved around how to serve the mc.
