SORRY LONG POST

Every 4 or so months, i comeback and reread/rewatch all of haikyuu and I'm still amazed at how well written each character is. I truly love the series and I wish it never ended huhu

I personally love the match between fukurodani and mujinazaka (I may be a bit biased cuz my fav character is bokuto), At first i remember watching season 2 of haikyuu way back and always thought of Bokuto as a loose cannon, yes he was an ace but a very unreliable one at that, which to me was strange because, I always thought being an ace means you have to always be tough and reliable, (as seen w ushijima or asahi or any other ace really)

and I kinda just rolled with it, it was a funny gag that an "ace" can be broken down so "easily" (like if they played in a smaller stadium or he messes up a shot)

and for the longest time i thought of it that way, not until i finally developed a functioning frontal lobe, I realized that Bokuto was way more of an ace than I thought and the mujinazaka match proved that, It was set up for the readers to believe that bokuto would have another emo breakfown, akaashi and the rest of fuko would cheer him up, then yay he scored, rest is history.

But when u least expect it, bokuto stands firm, despite fuko having a hard time esp akaashi after that setter dump, and is the one who cheers his team on and to me that is so poetic, especially when he says that he's graduating soon because he probably had a thought that, he can't keep on going having these breakdowns because fuko won't be his team anymore, he might not find a setter as understanding as akaashi or a team as reliable as fuko, they'll all lead different paths

that's why he says "he just became became an ace" and in the end he literally embodies the word ace huhu HE'S SO UNDERRATED MY BABY OWL
:(((
