Hmm is it just me? I'm a little confused why the director called him narcissistic, the actor never gave me that impression. Or maybe that's the point. Was the director was projecting his narcissistic thoughts on the actor? Between the two of them, the director seemed a bit more full-of-himself to me. Or was this all just a misunderstanding lol.

It’s a bit hard to tell since the story is really short and doesn’t delve too deep into all the explanations. When the director doesn’t win any rewards he admits himself that he’s the depressed one who is desperate for awards and recognition because he’s insecure of his own talent. He thinks too heavily of the impressions of others than recognizing the quality of his own work. So I do think it’s just the directors own pessimism projection on behalf of the actor.

In the beginning I think the author was trying to portray the actor in a more negative light showing him doing pillow sales though lol
In the end both of them realize that a lack of awards don’t diminish the product of their efforts. To give the message that they can make themselves shine with or without the recognition of others. Even though both of them started their relationship from selfish intentions they stayed tgt because of how emotionally compatible they (≧∀≦)
