As a child with narcissistic parents, this made me cry T-T. His dad is a narcissist and can’t see outside of himself. Everything revolves around him, everything ONLY affects him or affects him the most in all situations. Only his feelings and reputation matter. Demeaning your own child’s feelings and experiences to prioritize and center your own, sick. People like this do not deserve to have children. What an abusive POS. Hmm, maybe dad was triggered bc he probably has shit hidden in that room and secrets that the author is gonna reveal later that explains why he treats his son that way, but pls,,, some people are just twisted. No matter how hard of a time I’m having, I would never take that out on my child. Idc what that circumstances were that let you treat your own child that way, sure I can recognize we’re all human and people make mistakes, not everyone is perfect. But the dad’s own past experiences (I feel like something traumatic happened? Or the other daddy cheated and left some kind of messy shit, Was he graped?idk) whatever it was, doesn’t erase the trauma that the dad literally put his child through HIS WHOLE LIFE. Sigh. I hope mc gets at least one gratifying moment jabbing at the dad or even better, no-contact, :(. (That’s probably not gonna happen tho) filial piety in a lot of Asian cultures is truly a curse.
