This incomplete story is very much a let down as it is almost nothing like the synopsis. The FL wasn't forced to marry her BIL (ML). She agreed to it, even wanted it, despite having ample warning and time to runaway if she really did not want the wedding to happen. Also midway through this story the FL talks about her original mother being a shrewd business woman of the future, but we get no hint that the FL is actually a transmigrated soul or reborn with access to previous memories. And another thing, if Lingyi (ML) liked the FL from the beginning, why wasn't she made his first official wife instead of her older sister?? Was she too young?? They act like there had always something between them, but due to the caste (concubine daughter and legal son) system they couldn't be together until much later. But none of what I wrote is true. Because he obviously could have married both sisters!! Which what ML ended up doing!! I'm so disappointed in this story, I was looking forward to the usual wife vs concubine drama and this wasn't it!! It's so boring because there was barely any real drama between the FL and the other concubines, her sisters, or her unofficial mother.
Lastly: I've read too many historical stories with concubines for me to be upset about the ML having several wives...but what grosses me out is this so-called "modern" FL willingly allows herself to be the newest (replacement) wife to her dead elder sister's husband. I guess she hasn't heard about sloppy seconds. (⊙_⊙ ) Final verdict: 1-star!!
