It was connected to someone else that day cuz both of them were on the verge of giving up on their relationship. But when Yuu realises that he actually has feelings for Shuuji u can see the red-string rip in the panel when he runs! But ofc yuu didnt know that and just told Shuuji what he knew… hence them talking about it still being connected to someone else (and they cant see it anymore anyway)
But at in the last panel when they sleep together with their pinky finger intertwined u can see their red strings being connected to eo!
