Okay hear me out, I dislike ginger over here as much as the next guy and I could potentially appreciate the authors effort in establishing his lore and reasoning HOWEVER I really don’t think it works. I could potentially, theoretically, hypothetically see how and why this would be oh so sad. But his horrible previous performance as boyfriend nr 1 was so horrendous and catastrophic that I really don’t think or could even fathom how anyone could justify or maybe even sympathize with his character. I think that to make a character actually realistic and multidimensional you have to establish actually realistic characteristics. And I also don’t necessarily believe that every single character that’s evil or morally grey deserves or NEEDS a sad backstory.
