reading comprehension

huhuhuhu May 23, 2026 9:21 am

it’s unimaginable to me that the people reading a about young queer people (esp in a society that tries to stick everyone into oppressive boxes) LACK the ability to pick up on the nuances of their relationship!!!! y’all hating on chunwoo are wild. hating on taesoo is also wild. and you have to be batshit insane to view hoin as a negative character

sure, we’re all here for the smut and fluff and eye candy or whatever, but reading the story up to ch78 means you did stick around for the actual plot and character dynamics. how, then, could people not have understood chunwoo’s character?

and can we honestly say that we haven’t had toxic, complicated relationships like this ourselves? intellectually knowing that the person you’re in love with isn’t someone you can love everything about, but still holding mindlessly on to the hope that they’ll change just for you?

and the anger you’d feel at the realization that while you were in this state, you remained blind or at least deliberately deprived of a better relationship with a better person? yes, chunwoo made mistakes, but those were very human errors. i love how hoin dealt with the whole situation.

i hated reading taesoo’s point of view because i did not want to empathise with that boy ONE BIT. but i get it. he got what he deserved because of his actions, unfortunately… if he’d gotten actual therapy or opened up to people like his sister, he could’ve earned chunwoo’s understanding beyond unconditional devotion.

Using someone’s like for you as an “escape” is wrong.

Unfortunately I see why people don’t like the characters…chunwoo is very wishy washy, and it’s okay to point that out.

I get that he was in love with Taesoo, and their bond is deep…but adding ho-in into that didn’t do anything, but create an unnecessary cycle.

He’s at fault on his own because he’s aware of the relationship chunwoo has with Taesoo.

Nothing wrong with pointing out things people don’t like.. you can point out the things you love, and nobody will tell you not to.

We don’t HAVE to see it your way. There can be naunce, but the shit is toxic and they highkey shouldn’t have gotten together .

I’ve been saying this from day one not only is this story peak but all the negativity comes from ppl that lack reading comprehension and are severely immature and dishonest. All the characters in the story are so painfully human it’s lowkey irritating how the author managed to capture and express it. All the comments always being chunwoo is a bitch or hoin is a bird or so so is a cheater and blah blah is literal proof of how fucking stupid they are and shouldn’t be engaging in media they don’t bother understanding the core of like my god grow the fuck up. Even more irksome is it’s these same ppl that’ll tell u to ur face that tree without flowers and Hoshiks story is the pinnacle of writing

Well hisok’s story is not realistic at all, and it’s def not the pinnicale of writing, and that’s your opinion. You’re more than 1000% entitled to it.

I feel like theirs plenty roads to bring nuanced, but if we have to only see it one way if not we’re wrong, then that’s js not cool.

Idk I think you can feel the way you feel, and others can without being extra. I still don’t feel it’s crazy to say chasing someone you’re aware longs for another, and choosing to put yourself in the cycle is a little looney to me.

Pretty sure I referenced the specific opinions I find mind bogglingly idiotic in my comment which completely reduce chunwoo and hoin into stereotypes which highlights how they don’t understand either of these characters but fine I’ll expand further. Ppl that say o they don’t like the story coz chasing after someone that longs for someone else is looney is all well and good and I have no problem with perspectives of that nature even though I personally find it ridiculously amusing considering it’s a core foundation of bl storylines. Infact that’s the basic plot of a bunch of stories across the board. So if that’s a regular trope when u see the constant vitriol this story receives u have to settle down and ask urself wat the actual issue is. I’m not a child who can’t handle pple not liking shit I fuck with, it however is different wen u can clearly see ppls issues with this story is being heavily influenced by whorephobia and lowkey highkey misogyny. God forbid if chunwoo was a woman LOL. The comment section would be even more of a warzone than it currently is with ppl acting like this story is the worst thing to ever have been written simply bcoz the author decided to properly express how messy relationships can be between fucking human beings. More egregious that chunwoo didn’t save himself of keep himself “pure” after he and hoin were unofficially seeing each other like he could just turn off all the years and dedicated affection he’d worked had to put into his and taesoos relationship and shut that shit off lol. Let’s be honest about things especially in today’s social climate and how it continues to warp and influence ppls mindset and how they interact with media. Also I specifically referenced Hoshiks story coz it’s community specifically pisses me off ngl and I’ve seen intersections from the audience there on here too. Ion wanna go into my gripes with the story itself as it’s garbage from front to back but it’s how it’s perceived that thoroughly infuriates me. Never seen a bunch of ppl look at abject abuse, manipulation and the complete destruction of a character’s autonomy and come out of it with rose colored glasses on how it’s the best romance in an age… gag me… it horrifies me specifically bcoz u can tell they didn’t understand shit about wat they just read and will still be the same ones to have an apoplexy about stories like lp.
