idk how much you read but jaden was never with philip. his feelings were unreciprocated. philip viewed jaden’s affection as never ending, something to gloat with, a proof of how everyone admired and loved him. his “interest” in jaden changed its form in the later parts of the story because jaden expressed that he was no longer interested in philip and basically it was a huge hit in his ego.
