Actually she wanted to leave with Eclise!! She meant that.. she followed the game, she didn't know that it would be like this, she wanted to leave but not run away because they can chase after her and her plan will ruin or they can kill Eclise..she is just don't want to leave just like it. She told him, but as his master she doesn't owe her explanation for her actions. But he betrayed her..he wanted to monopolize and kill her entire family.

ok now on a serious note about eclis, yes i pity him but maybe if he didnt sell out his people and chose to go through with his initial plans of resurrecting his fallen kingdom, i wouldve felt a bit more remorse with what happened to him; he shouldve built his self up to stand with penelope. i would even root for him if he had a good ending as her knight.
yes he did get led on by penelope, but im a bit biased with penelope since she was doing it for survival. She already gave him freedom and she let him go after she got betrayed. everything that came after that was already eclis’s choice, its irrational desire and a very unhealthy obsession not love.
